A month ago, the Ranger started jerking when engaging the passing gear. The progressivly got worst and the engine light came on. I had a computer connected to the truck and it gave a code of Cam Position Sensor failure or timing belt failure. We replaced the Cam Position Sensor and that seemed to fix the problem. Very recently though, I was attempting to pass another vehicle on the road and the truck lost power. I pulled it over to the side of the road and it died. I started it with no problem. Then with it in park, I gave it a little gas. Once the RPM's reached about 1200-1300rpm, the truck studderd, produced a loud squell and then died. I then waited about 30 minutes for help to arrive. Once help arrived, the truck started fine and begin to drive fine. Approximately, 3-5 miles later, the truck began to lose power again. However, I was able to get it home, about 20 miles further. I had the computer connected to the truck again it is still giving me the same codes as before. Is it really the timing belt or can it possibly be the fuel pump?
