2001 Ford Ranger Coil replacement, 'do it yourself' project

I've been quoted about $600 to replace the coil, plugs, and plug wires. The truck is a 2nd/work vehicle with a lot of miles and I'd like to spend as little as possible to fix the problem.
Are these jobs that are difficult to do or require tons of specialized/expensive tools or are they in range for a DIYer with some basic tool (no specialized automotive tools at all)?

TIA for any tips.

need tools ,no tool, job can not be done.

I suggest getting the part and ask for the tools too

just the basic should be enough to get u through this project.

Not a bad job to do as a 1st

Thanks for the reply. I guess I overstated the 'no tools' thing. I have tools, just not any specialized auto tools; screw drivers, sockets, hammers, saws, etc but on chain hoists, brake tools, or auto-mechanic wrenches with the weird angles...
Bought the part, it's held on with 3 7mm bolts ans sits right on top of the engine. Pull the plug wires, undo the bolts, reverse the process and the truck runs like new! Woot!
