how much does it cost to replace an altenator in the city of chicago? i think i got ripped off. 600 bucks really?

its about 150 for a new alternator the shop will add normally 10 the 20 to that price to make money
and lets just guess 30 dollars any hour
at the most 3 hours of work
that equal about 260
i think you got ripped of but check the going rate for a mechanic and the price of your altenator
there are some alternator that require a fully charged battery so they dont over heat read over the bill
