I have a 99 ford ranger with the V6 3.0 flexfuel engine. It failed smog test due to "Throttle Position Sensor out of range" according the the code they gave me (P1120). Could the fuel filter needing replaced cause this?

No fuel filter will not correct code states at idle TPS voltage to low check wiring and connection if good replace TPS
