I've heard a "popping" noise near the front passenger wheel, especially when turning left. Today I noticed a "rod" that was broken. It is behind the wheel, and I only spotted it because the wheel was turned. I don't want to get screwed for my ignorance when I go to the shop, so I'd like to be able to identify the problem up front. I have searched the internet for diagrams but could find nothing. Any ideas what this piece may be called.
