1999 Ford Ranger Head Gasket

Hello:

I can smell raditor coolant in the cab/passenger compartment & dash board tempature guage shows the engine is hot above normal. I see no coolant leaking inside or out. Could this be a head gasket or thermostate problem?

If you can smell coolant and the temperature is rising than there is definitely a leak. If there is no visible leak than check the engine oil. If it looks milky than the coolant is probably leaking through a faulty head gasket. If the oil is good than the heater core behind the passenger dash may be the culprit.
