Transmission problem
1998 Ford Ranger 4 cyl Two Wheel Drive Automatic
Hello!
my son's ford ranger was just shipped from Atlanta to 29 Palms California and it has been relatively idle for the past 6 months. Now out in California it is being driven at 3 hour stretches at a time.
he advised that he has issue now where it will only go in reverse and the transmission fluid is black.
The base mechanic said it is most likely his clutch and tranny that are shot. Would concur that this is the most logical conclusion and what would be the cost ball park for the tranny and clutch. It only has 90 K on it
