Puente Hills Ford service said that a new catalytic converter was needed. Took it to a muffler shop to do this and they said - no, an EGR valve should be replaced. Suggested to try the EGR replacement first since it is much less costly & then if it didn't resolve it, then go for the catalytic converter replacement (there appears to be 3 converters on my truck).

What should I do?

Hi
The high NOx readings indicates EGR fault. So would be good thing to try sure save $$$ if it works.
