1997 Ford Ranger code p1744

P1744 is a transmission trouble code. This has to do the torque converter clutch not engaging and usually means mechanical failure. Normally pulling the transmission and changing the torque converter will do it. Or possibly the replacing or rebuilding whole transmission needed too...
