Just yesterday I started having a problem getting my vehicle in and out of gear. The degree of difficulty varies from "a little stiff" to "needs excessive force to shift." Obviously there should be no resistance at all, but I'm hoping you could help me identify the problem before I take it in. There's no grinding of gears or trouble driving once the car is in gear, it's just sporatically difficult to get it in a gear. I added clutch fluid to a resevoir that was low and that didn't seem to help. When the vehicle is off there's no trouble shifting into 1st or reverse, but sometimes it's difficult to do so while it's running. The degree of diffuculy doesn't seem to vary with how long the engine's been running, it seems random. I was hoping you could tell me if this sounds like a clutch or transmission problem.

I am curious about the amount of fluid you added to the reservoir. If it was completely dry you may just need to bleed the slave cylinder. Since this is a hydraulic clutch the slave cylinder may have air in it. Try bleeding it first. If that doesn't help it may still be the problem so keep that in mind. If you have to take it in.
