My radio backlight comes on and goes out constantly.
Sometimes cutting the headlights on and turning them off will bring them back on, or dimming all of the lights in the console and brightening them will work also. They usually go out afterward though. The display with the radio frequency works perfectly. Do you have any suggestions to help me keep the backlight on all of the time when it is supposed to be on?

FYI: I swapped another stock Ford radio out with the stock radio that my truck came with to see if this would fix it. It does the same exact thing.

THE REST OF THE CONSOLE LIGHTS/ILLUMINATION WORK PERFECTLY.

It's just the radio backlights that will go out and come back on intermittantly.

Do all the dash lights stay ok when the stereo dims out?Check the connector at the back of the stereo for poor/loose connection, you are looking for a light blue/red wire, that is for illumination. If that doesnt fix it, it is probably a bad connection where that wire splices into the trucks wiring harness.
