On the way home from school the other day i noticed that my oil pressure reading was a little lower than normal. i had driven 3/4 of the 60 miles home so i decided to keep going. i had the correct amount of oil. i left town for the weekend with a friend and when i went to start my truck tonight it started up a little slow but since it hadn't been run and it is 6 degrees outside i didn't think much of it. however when it started my check gauges light came on and i noticed that i did not have any oil pressure. I took my friend home using my moms car and when i returned i tried to start it again. it started right up again and this time i had about 1/2 the oil pressure as normal. so i decided to drive it around the block to see if it just needed to warm up however the pressure dropped to about a quarter of what it normally is and held steady. i am a firefighter and desperately need my truck in order to do my job. any ideas on the cause and a possible solution would be appreciated.

Check the oil pressure with a mechanical gauge if normal replace the oil pressure switch. Abnormal comeback
