My 96 Ranger started jerking very slightly while driving (feeling somewhat like it would before you need to downshift, but not needing to downshift). When I speed up to about 70-80 MPH the check engine light comes on and the jerking gets worse. I have changed the spark plugs which were dry and the wires. My Ranger does not smoke or drop in oil level. I have been told by the FORD mechanics that the motor misfires on the 2nd cylinder and is losing compression in the 3rd cylinder. I don't know what to do because I am told there are different problems with the vehicle. I used BG 44K Fuel System Cleaner and it seemed to work for a while and since I have used it the Ranger seems to be running better, but I can still feel the slight jerking. Please let me know what else I should do or if an overhaul is in need.
