1995 Ford Ranger Loud whining noise when idling

My 1995 Ford Ranger pickup makes a very loud whining / clicking noise when idling mainly in the hot/humid weather. Performance does not seem to be affected.

Does it get worse when you turn the steering wheel?

No. The whining stops as soon as I start to move the truck. I can sometime hear a clicking with the shin when I am idling,like at a red light.
