Ford 1995 Ranger 89,000 miles with 3.0 engine. The gas hose from filler neck to the gas tank is leaking gas at fill up due to cracks or split in the hose just above the tank where the hose bends sharply downwards. A replacement hose is over $450.00 and labor cost is over $100.00. Can this hose be repaired with adhesive or some other gas hose rather than the Ford replacement hose? Do you know if there is an inner hose within outer hose? Part number for Ford hose is F47Z9034N.

did ford give you those prices? you might be able to find a aftermarket hose for the ranger cheaper, you can put sealent over the hole some auto supply stores have repair kits.

Have new filler hose in hand. Purchased for little over $100.00. Easiest way to replace filler hose? Drop the tank or lift the bed?

drop the tank half way just enough to get old hose off.
makes job easier if you have nearly empty tank.

I agree with autopop, it would be easier to drop the tank and work on it, try to get as much gas out before you start to drop the tank, a little gas does not see like a lot but can be ackward to work with.
