1994 Ford Ranger STARTER WONT DISENGAGE

I replaced the starter relay battery and now when I try to start it will start but the starter will not disengage from the flywheel

Faulty Starter Solenoid: The starter solenoid is responsible for engaging and disengaging the starter motor from the flywheel.

we checked the wiring on the starter relay and found it would only work one way for we had the wires switched the first time and we also replaced the ignition switch but not the lock cylinder could the lock cylinder be causing the problem thank you

Sounds like its not reposition though-double check

I check the starter and it seems to be in the right position but still will not disengage tried to adjust the iginition block and still no luck check the wires on the relay and they will only work one way checked the grounds seems to be ok the lock cylinder goes from run to start and comes back to run so I have run out of things to check took starter back to parts store and it check out ok on their machine it just will not disengage from the flywheel have added spacer still no luck any more ideas anything help would be appreciated thanks have a nice day

Do this disconnect the red and light blue wire from the starter relay, now turn key to run position -check power at the wire-power there check and test the ignition switch-power is not suppose to be there only at starting position.

I did the test you suggested and there is power at the ignition test site in the run pos do you have any other suggestion is it possible it could be the lock switch cylinder I have changed everything but that any help would be apprreciated have a nice day
