1994 Ford Ranger AC or Heater blower. The resistor

1994 Ford Ranger Two Wheel Drive Automatic 130000 miles

The resistor overheated and melted the plastic case around the motor and the evaporator. Anyone know what I should check to find the cause, and then the repair? Evaporator is not damaged

If the blower motor resister melted down, chances are the blower motor is drawing too many amps and needs replaced. Check that and let me know what you find.
