After replacing my radiator one day, i turned the truck on, after it idled for about 1 minute, i saw the fuselink for the alternator start smoking, i shut the truck off. I got my volt meter and tested it; it said it was putting out 16 volts. I took the alternator into o'reillys and autozone, they both said it was Good. The battery i know is good. I believe there might be a short in the harness that comes off of the regulator on the alternator, but i'm not sure. Any ideas as to what may have caused this?

The voltage regulator is not controlling the alternator its overcharging the system could be a short ciruit in the harness
