1991 Ford Ranger plug wires arcing on block

1991 Ford Ranger 4 cyl Two Wheel Drive Manual 300.00 miles

my truck started missing like it wasnt running on all 4 so i traced it to the coill right hand col pack and replaced it ran a little better . then it started it again at night you can see it arcing on the valve cover so I replaced the plug wires and now it is even worse was told to my ground it is grounded to my stater bolt any ideas ? 2.3 ford ranger

HI there make sure that the leads you are using are good quality and also check that the spark plug gaps are not excessive, as the spark will always find the easies path to earth, so if the leads are suspect as with the plugs, you will see this arching and cross firing of the leads to the engine as it will be a easiest path to earth.
