Drive Train Axles Bearings problem

On my 90 Ranger, the clutch pedal has very limited disengagement. I cannot shift into any gears with engine running. If I start the truck in gear, I cannot shift out of gear (doesn't matter which gear). Upward movement of the pedal results in clutch engaging very quickly, within 1/2 inch of pedal movement. Is this the slave cylinder or master cylinder?
