1st question: How do I tune my 89 ranger from using Premium to using Regular gas? I don't use the truck for anything else but going 10 miles to work and back every day.

2nd question: My engine runs faster at night when it's cooler than during the day when it's warmer. I changed the thermostat, but no change. I even did a full tune up changing plugs and wires. Thanks.

Ok this truck was made to run on regular 87 octane there is no tune for premium fuel. As for a tune up what you do is change plugs (set factory gap) change cap and rotor and plugs and wires as needed and check PCV valve and air filter and fuel filter, set timing to factory specs. As for you idle problem I would like you to unplug the temp sensor (2wire sensor) and ohm it when it is cold and get back to me with the ohms and air temp at time you check it, check this with the truck cold before you run it.
