1988 Ford Ranger Stuck in reverse gear

My old ranger pickup is stuck in reverse, my shifter popped out and from there its been stuck, was able to be towed while clutch was engaged. Now I can't even push it forward. What can I do to get'r back on the road? Thank you for your help :D

have to check the links
or its internal tranny failure

the shifter came out of the tranny
and it is in reverse
or it just stuck in reverse
remove the shifter arm boot and plate cover and check
you have to remove the shifter and place the tranny in neutral and then reinstall the shifter
