1994 Ford Probe rough idle

Engine Performance problem
1994 Ford Probe 4 cyl Front Wheel Drive Manual 178xxx miles

the car starts fine but sometimes when i come to a stop sign or stop light it idles rough it acts like it wants to shut off. I did notice when i changed the spark plugs there was oil on them do u think i should replace the valve stem seals.

The oil was on the outside of the plugs right? If that is correct then you need a new vavle cover gasket that includes spark plug seals. Here is a pic of the gasket. Then I would replace the spark plug wires if they are covered in oil.

If car runs rough only at idle, it's unlikely to be the leads. I would check the TPS. Yes, you have an unrelated leaking VCG, they last about 5 years or 30000km.
