The right headlight became stuck about halfway in travel between deployed and retracted when the lights were turned off. The next morning the car would not start. When the light would not retract that night (the drivers side DID retract), I checked to make sure that the light had actually switched off- it did. Is it possible that the light motor is stuck in an 'open' position, and draining my battery?
Also, I have tried to use my Haynes manual to try to disconnect the lamp motor to prevent the battery drain, but the instructions are extremely vague as to where to make the disconnection. I can see the connection between the light motor and the light, but I can't disconnect the coupling as the space for my hands is limited.
Long story short- what is the simplest way to disconnect the faulty light to get to the shop to fix it?
