Hello, I am driving a 1996 Ford Powerstroke Turbo Diesel. As I was coming to park today the power steering suddenly went dead. I finished parking and opened the hood. It appears that the high pressure output line popped right out of the pressure fitting at the base of the pump/resivoir. The male and female parts of the fittings look undamaged.
Here is my question, I believe that all I need to do is loosen the first nut on the fitting and slip the hose fitting back in and tighten it down. I just don't know which way to turn the nut because it looks like one of those dual combinations that could require twisting in the opposite direction to loosen. I dont want to damage it further because it isn't mine and that puppy is tight.
Edit> Ive done some additional research and it is begining to appear that this is a larger problem than I suspected. The fitting should all be one piece on the hose side. Any input is greatly appreciated.
Any help or opinion would be great!
Thanks Zoo
