The water pump went out and the timing belt came off. I took it to a friend he said this motor ,when the timing belt comes off it destroys the heads. he wants to buy it from me cause i can't aford to fix it but I'm not sure that there really is anything wrong with the heads.

What he said is usually correct unless you are luck to have the head stop in just the right spot. What can happen is the valve can be open and extending down at its maximum length when the belt goes and the piston will come up and strike it. Thiis bends the valve and causes the damage. Turn the cam and see if it rotates. If it is hard to turn or refuses then head is damaged. If it turns I would pull it off, replace the head gasket and install the new timing belt and water pump.
