Inside lights wont work after opening driver side door

I would like to ask as to how to fix the problem of the inside lights that wont turn on while opening the driver side door from either outside or inside, while they work when I open any other door.
I own a 1990 Lincoln Towncar with 5.0 engine which has 390.000 KM mileage to it
