Ford Explorer Sport Trac six four wheel drive automatic 60,000 miles.

Any idea where I can get instructions/exploded diagram/etc., for replacing the rear window motor in my vehicle? Not a rear side window, the actual back-facing window. I bought a book but it was multi-year multi-vehicle and did not address the one and only thing I needed.

I ordered a motor from parts.com and figured it out myself. Here is a procedure: 1. Fold down the rear seats in the cargo position. 2. Flip up the spring loaded panel at the back of the seats and remove it by removing the phillips headed screws. Set it aside. 3. Remove the back plastic interior panel by first removing the plastic fasteners (be careful not to break them). Gently pull the panel from its slots located left and right at the top of the panel. 4. Fold down the interior felt by removing the two plastic fasteners. 5. Slowly peel down the motor cover. The motor is behind the rear-right seat. See picture below.

6. Remove the 3 brass torx screws that hold the motor to the spool. 7. Insert a screwdriver between the motor and the spool to pry them apart. Be careful not to remove the spool from its housing. See picture below.

8. unplug the motor from the wiring harnes. 9. If the window is rolled all the way up, turn the spool clockwise about a quarter turn with a screwdriver so that there is some play. The rear window should open some. See picture below.

10. Put a dab of grease on the hub of the new motor. 11. Insert hub of new motor slightly on the spindle and turn it until the torx screws line up. 12. Replace the torx screws and tighten. 13. Stick the cover back on the motor. Put the back plastic panel back. Reattach the hinged cargo platform. 14. Reinitialze the motor (turn the key to 'on', push vent button 6 times, turn key 'off', push vent button 6 times, close rear window, open rear window.)

I did all those steps, and when I am done sending the window all the way up and then all the way down until it stops, the window will not work. Is there another part to the programming of the window?

the window has failed to initialize. the instructions were incorrect as the button has to be held down/up etc., to complete it. you might have to take it to a mechanic to get it to work again so he use his scanner and command it to work. See picture on how to properly do it.
