Just so I know what diagrams to look up, because we may need to check power and ground circuits, and test the ignition swtich, the power diode, and fusible links(most common) but I am in USA and have access to Ford Factory DVD for your model year, but I can't find any mention of a "Granada Estate" Is it front drive? or Rear drive? Full size, compact, mid, or sport?

Follow the positive battery cable to the starter solenoid, on it where the cable attaches should be some(3) usually smaller wires, that attach at the same terminal, these are the system fusible links, test these with a test light before and after the "link" piece to see if the link burned out, let me know what U find, No I will not be able to get diagrams of Brit models...sorry! Just hope they are close enough to US layout! If links are OK, you'll need to track down Ground spots for the dash, these will be inside, and you will need to remove the kick panels on driver and passenger sides, inspect the grounds there.
