1987 Other Ford Models ENGINE NOT RUNNING SMOTHLY WHEN STOPP

When car is stopped and gear is engaged then the engine does not run smothly. when the gear is shifted to neutral possition it is running smothly. I do not know whether it is a problem of carburetor or engining tunning. I have replace all four plugs but did not make any different. thank you

Check the engine compression if its on specs give it a major tune-up continues comeback there's a lot that can make the engine not to run smoothly-such as fuel pressure/vacuum leak and so on-
