1985 Other Ford Models Starting a long idle car

1985 Other Ford Models 6 cyl Two Wheel Drive Automatic ~70,00 miles

My wifes car has been sittiing idle in a garage for 6-8 months while she was sick. I would like to start it again. What is the proceedure I should follow. I live in California

you should be pretty safe to charge the battery and change the oil before you start it. change the oil filter as well. then start it up let it build some oil pressure up before you rev it. It should be ok, then put some fresh fuel in it if it's not full. if the tank is full runabout a half tank out and then put the fresh fuel in.
