 I have a 2002 Mustang V6, when I first put the car in Reverse in the morning or after it has been sitting for awhile I here a POP in the rear end, I also hear a noise when i am slowing down for a stop, like the rear end it just releases from tension, I have replaced the shocks, since the shocks were old over 85K on them, but still having the problem, could this be a rear U-joint problem or what?

The driveshaft has front and rear u-joints. Sometimes you can tell if they are bad because you will hear a pop and even feel a shimmy at around 35-40 mph. If so, I'd say to replace the u-joints. I have a 98 Mustang GT and I replaced mine at 90,000 mi. They are only like $12 apiece.
