I recently purchased a used 2007 Mustang approx 4 months ago, and a couple days ago as it started getting colder out -- when starting my car there seems to be an intermittant slight squeak. I opened the hood and seems like the timing belt and its like a cricket chirp every few seconds and does not speed up too much when accellerating. It seems like it goes away after a few miles of driving, but its hard to tell as its easier to hear in the garage. Any tips/suggestions?

It's not going to be the timing belt. It could be a pulley bearing in one of the pulleys. First thing to do is get a spray bottle with water in it. When the noise is present, spray some on both sides of the belt. If the noise immediately silences, the belt is the problem. If not, try completely removing the belt. If the noise is still present, then what you may have is a bad Camshaft Sensor synchronizer. They can really sound like a belt
