Turned on the blower switch and smelled wire insulation smoking. Now blower switch only works on high speed setting. Relay or switch? Owner service-able? Known issue or campaign? Out of warranty.

Inspect and test the blower motor resistor this is the one that controls the speed of the blower motor by using resistors. Replace it -Its located behind right side of dash-sorry no pic for exact location
