I though I had driven with the emergency brake on

I drove my car for about 10 miles, I began to smell something like rubber burning. I though I had driven with the emergency brake on, but I checked it and it was not on. I parked the car and when I got out to look at my tires the driver side front wheel was smoking hot. All 3 of the other wheels were fine. What could be the cause of this?

This is due to one of two things. Either the caliper is sticking or the rubber brake line is swelling and not allowing the caliper to release.

The way to check this is to remove the caliper and retract the piston with a c clamp. If the piston pushes the fluid back to the master cylinder then the piston is ok. If not, it needs to be replaced.
