2003 Ford Mustang FLY WHEEL

No trick but you need an impact wrench. If you have no acess to air compressor you can rent an electric one. The hammering of the impact helps break loose.
They are righty tighty lefty loosy.

I don't think you are correct with righty, tighty and lefty, loosey. On the flywheel it is stamped counter clockwise to tighten. There is about 3 inches clearance between the nut and the electric fan for the radiator. There is no way to get an impact wrench in therer. Any other ideas?

What are you trying to remove the flywheel is on the back of engine the radiator is in front???

My bad, I am not using the correct name apparently. It is the wheel on the front of the engine with the belts that run around it. I have always referred to this as a flywheel, but understand you are correct. We are trying to remove this wheen in order to put a larger wheel to boost the rpm of the super charger. All of this being done with the engine in the car.

This a 4.6L? removing crankshaft pully? Remove center bolt then a special tool is needed to remove pully. The center bolt is righthand thread. What is the 14mm hex for??

Yes, this is a 4.6 Cobra Mustang 50 year anniversary special. The 14mm hex is the size tool that was sent with the booster kit to remove the center bolt. Also a puller was sent to remove the pulley once we get the bolt removed. It is the bolt that we are having trouble breaking loose. The center bolt is made like an allen bolt. That is what the 14mm is aobut.

Ford says it is right hand thread like all crank bolts. Engine turns clockwise if bolt was lefthand it would backout. So if you can"t break it loose with breaker bar and 3 ft pipe. Then pull radiator to gain room for an impact. But if your trying to loosen like it was lefthand then tha's the problem.

Thanks, we are turning in a clockwise direction but cannot break loose. Was trying to avoid pulling the radiator but that may be the only solution. Just looking for the easy way out.

Try going left then right etc see if you can break tension on bolt. Also can try heating bolt BUT be carefull wrap wet rag around pully to keek heat away from balancer and seal.
