I just got a new ( well new to me at least) 2002 mustang. Approx. 78K miles. Granted she is technically an LX but has never acted like one. She's got the heart of a saleen. :) I have had absolutely no problems except for my one pair of shoes catching a bit on the dash when i let off the clutch.
She has been very strong until lately. Now she runs hard but when coming off acceleration and sitting at a light the idle will drop and she dies. Granted she starts right back up. I have noticed the idle fluctuates. Usually it is about 750-850 at idle. Is this more of a fuel delivery problem, a timing problem, or electrical? I doubt it is the last one but who knows. Could it just be setting the idle back to normal? or does it sound like the IAC (idle air controller)? Ths only things that have recently changed is 1) I have started to occasionally use the heater which I had not been at all before and 2) The lst few tanks of gas came from Shell instead of my usual place. any ideas?
