2000 Ford Mustang Passenger side headlight.

My girlfriends passenger side headlight is dim like it's a daylight running light. sometimes if she flashes her high beams they will start working correctly. I've tried replacing the bulb & inspecting the headlight assembly for damage but everything seems normal. I have read that sometimes the headlight relay switch over heats & burns out the wires. Will that cuase this issue?

Hi bpizz11. Welcome to the forum. This is typical of a bad / corroded ground wire for that bulb. To prove it, unplug the DRIVER'S side bulb and the passenger side bulb will go out. When one bulb has a bad ground wire, current will find an alternate path to ground through the high beam filament and over to the other high beam, then to ground. When you unplug the good bulb, that alternate ground path is gone so the bad bulb goes out completely.

The two common places to look for the problem are right where the wires go into the socket and where the ground wire is bolted to the body sheet metal. If you don't find the problem there, I'll find a service manual and we'll continue on.
