Hello, my air conditioning has developed the nasty habit of blowing hot and cold. When I watch the compressor, the clutch will engage for approx 7-8 seconds, then disengage for the same amount of time. This will continue consistently. When I disconnect the a/c pressure switch, the clutch will not engage. Any thoughts? If it is the pressure switch, can this be changed without having to evacuate the system?

hi , mostlikey there's not enough pressure in the system which, indicates a small leak, I would first try to top off the system,(least costly), and see what happens, it should cycle less frequently as you fill, use it for a couple of days, if it goes back to cycling frequently then you have a leak, if it cycles less frequently then obviously you dont, if it continues to cycle on and of frequently even after you checked pressure and topped off, then its your switch. I hope I didnt sound to confusing
