Hello,

I have a 98 Ford V6 mustang with 103,000 miles. Within the last three years, I have been having problems with my camshaft sensor position. I have replaced the part at least 5 times, at first I thought perhaps it was the place I bought the part ( a national parts place) at. That maybe their parts weren't very good. I tried another wide known parts place. Apparently, its not the places I'm buying them at. The first time I replaced it twice after my check engine light came on again within a matter of days from each other. That lasted about a year and then the light came on again, replaced part. Seems like it happens about once a year. This last time it did like the first time, replaced it then again within a matter of days it did it again. Could there be something else making them go out like this? Can't help but think there might be another problem causing/making this problem so frequently. Its not making any noises or squeaks. It just seems like at certain speeds it tries to cut out.
Thanks.

Let me guess the code is PO340? There is a synconizer that goes bad right below the sensor.
