1998 Ford Mustang Steering Wheel Vibration

Brakes problem
1998 Ford Mustang 6 cyl Two Wheel Drive Automatic

Replaced the front and rear brakes, including rotors and replacement of rear calipers and front right caliper. All was working well. She has driven about 4k miles and now the steering wheel vibrates whenever braking. The faster your speed when braking, the worse the vibration.

She had taken it in for an oil change and the mechanic indicated that the front rotors needed replacement. Since they were brand new, she declined.

I can not locate any specs to determine if the rotors are either incorrect or warped.

Thoughts?

Usually with the symtoms you describe, the roro(s) would be the problem, and you should change both calipers at the same time, they are both the same age ind in the same general condition. The one you didn't change could be sticking, causing that rortor to overheat and warp, also tighten the wheel lug nuts with a torque wrench.

Would the rotors show any unusual wear in this scenario? Looked at them and, except for a little rust on the edges, no pitting or grooves.

Calipers appear to be floating freely and rotors do not appear to be sticking when turned.

Just concerned about replacing again, just a few months after last replacement.

Car has 80k miles.

You can go to Autozone and rent a runout gauge, follow the directions, this will remove all doubt.
