I have a 1995 Mustang GT with an AOD-E Transmission. The car will down shift and jump back up into the previous gear. I had the transmission rebuilt and it was OK for a few days and then started doing it again.
I took it back to the transmission shop and they pulled the transmission and went through it again, but could find nothing wrong with the transmission, but it continued to do it. Even driving on the interstate with the cruise set at 60mph, it would randomly downshift.
The Transmission shop changed the TPS and MLP sensors thinking that may be the problem. They then changed the valve body in the transmission and it is still doing it, not as bad right now, but I believe it will get worse as it did before.
It shows no codes and never has concerning the transmission. The Transmission guys are convinced the problem is not in the Transmission.
At times it would be so bad the car was almost undrivable.
I like the car and need dependable transportion, but I don't know where to turn.
