My key does not work in the doors but it works in the ignition and trunk. My trunk button works in the glove box but not on the remote. My remote does not work at all and the buttons for the locks inside the doors do not work. I have tried reprogramming the remote by turning on the ignition like the dealership told my to. But I'm not looking forward to taking the car in for an expensive but probably easy fix.

REMOTE TRANSMITTER To program (or re-program) transmitter(s) into the remote/keyless entry module, perform the following steps: 1. Turn ignition to RUN or ACC position. Using a jumper wire, momentarily short the terminals of the programming connector located in left rear quarter panel area. All doors should lock then unlock to confirm programming mode has been entered. 2. Press any button on transmitter. All doors should lock then unlock, to verify that transmitter has been programmed. 3. Repeat step 2 for additional remote transmitters (up to 4 maximum). Turn ignition OFF. All doors should lock then unlock to confirm end of programming mode. Check operation of remote transmitters. NOTE: For additional information on remote transmitter programming and trouble shooting, see REMOTE KEYLESS ENTRY DIAGNOSTIC SERVICE TIPS bulletin (Ford Bulletin No. 97-24-13) in TSB. NOTE: If doors do not respond, press button again (3 times maximum) with same transmitter. If doors still won't lock, go to TESTING . Is this how you tried to reprogram?

The remote is the last thing i want to worry about i need to get the locks working period before i worry about the remote any suggestions would be appreciated.

Have you checked all fuses? both in the car and under the hood? If yes. Pop the switch out from the front edge and lift outthen test the switch for continuity in both directions, and test wires for power. Let me know what you find, Ford door and window switches are terrible ever since they started making them in Mexico. My Lincoln had 8,000 miles and needed a master window switch!
