Hello,

when we try to start the car, we turn the key and sometimes nothing happens , we then shake the whole car or the simple action of just popping the hood release to shake the whole car, then we turn the key and the car starts fine as rediculous as that sounds

and other times the starter motor keeps running while the engine itself is already running, and we have to disconnect the negative from the battery to stop this from happening, thereby the car itself is not running at all.

is it the starter motor, coil, relay, ignition switch or short in a ground somewhere, don't know where to start to look for source of the problem, please help?

we replaced the starter relay on the driverside fender wall, everything else is still orginal factory parts

thank you

Rudi

would either be starter or ignition switch, best to do is have local auto part store test starter, most do it for free. if starter tests OK then replace switch.
