Engine Performance problem
1988 Ford Mustang V8 Two Wheel Drive Manual
----------------------------------------------------------------
I just installed a runner motor from a 86 Mark VIII into my Mustang. Installed new plugs and wires; installed new oil pump, distributor and rotor; installed a new solenoid as well. When I finally started car up, it misfired quit badly. Reset timing on car and it still misfires. The misfire happens when you step on accelerator. You can hear the air thru EFI, but there's not enough gas getting into it. The car sat up for a year, and I put new gas in along w/engine treatment. What do I do to resolve this?

change the fuel filter first. What size engine came out of the car in order to put road runner engine in? You can also try to reset the computer. disconnect the battery and leave off for a few minutes. Then reconnect it. I am not to good at computers but you might have to go to a junk yard and get one for a v8 engine if you took a 6 cyl out.
