After having to jump start my 1966 mustang, I noticed that my headlights and blinkers didn't work. When I inspected the wiring I found that a wire going to the left front blinker had completely melted through the its insulation. The melting started at the fire wall where the harness connects to the under-dash wiring. The rubber connector was slightly melted where the affected wire connected. In addition, a ground wire coming from the left headlight was melting. I replaced a blown fuse and replaced the entire headlight wiring harness, but when I started the car back up and tried to turn on the lights the same wire melted again. I am not sure what is causing this so whatever advise can be given I would appreciate. Thanks.

Did you replace the head light switch or check it for melting? The head light switch or dimmer switch probably is what is causing this to happen.
