Hey guys! I just bought a '66 Mustang, automatic, and the guy who sold it to me gave me 4 pairs of shoes for each wheel, which I've already installed myself (they needed it BAD). Now, I know that disc brakes are better quality than drum brakes, and my question is should I have them all switched to disc brakes? [img:0a7959852b]http://www.2carpros.com/forum/automotive_pictures/521984_mustang_1.jpg[/img:0a7959852b] I'm 24 and this is my dream car and will be entering it into my 1st car show this weekend, does anyone know if doing something like this will decrease the 'value so to say' since it is not the original design. Also, if I do switch them how much do you think that would run me. Thanks for your time, I look forward to a response.

You have drum on all four corners? If you are going to leave the vehicle relatively original, I would leave them as they are for now. After a few car shows, a road trip or two, and a sound system upgrade. I might consider upgrading the front to disc, they are more efficient and easier on the foot. Sometimes at swap meets you can pickup a kit reasonably inexpensive. Or a take off of a 68-69 should be easily installed.

But if you are going to big horsepower and fat tires...The first thing I would spend money on is a brake upgrade. Your going to want to stop that prize fast car before you get yourself into a bad situation. My two cents.
