car feels sluggish

Hi I have a ford mondeo 2001 ghia tddi. It feels very heavy and sluggish. when I opened the oil cap from the engine there's a kind of smoke coming out. I don't know may its coz of hot engine oil. If u know the solution please let me know.

Hello,

Low power output can be several contributing factors.
It could be as simple as a clogged air filter, which will restrict airflow into the engine and that will lead to sluggish acceleration.
This can be also due to worn mas air flow sensor or a weak fuel pump.
Having a plugged catalytic converter can also cause slugging power.

Many times, engine tune up can help restore the performance. Like changing the air filter, fuel filter, plugs, clean out throttle body etc.
