1999 Ford Mondeo clunking noise

could have been the bearings in the water pump .. but i would have expected a mechanic to hear this !!

there has been a tinny metalic rattle coming from what seems to be the front of my mondeo for a few months now, sounding almost like a loose bracket on exhaust but after being twice on ramps & thoroughly searched inspected there is nothing loose anywhere.
