1987 Ford Mondeo

there was not a mondeo manufactured in 1987 .. so could you please supply the correct year ! and when you say rev's on its own ? in what way ? does it stick on high rev's ? let me know as much info as possible ?

sorry typing error its a 1997 mondeo 1.8 td when i say revs on its own slightest touch of accelerater and rev counter shoots round to full revs then drops down again instantly but when sat at traffic lights its a bit dangerous managin to controll it at moment but mot due in july and need to sort problem out will make a donatoin if you can help ?

check all vacuum hoses ..are not leaking .. does the vehicle only do this when running at normal operating temp .. or also when cold ?

yes this only happens at normall running temp ive checked hoses by putting an inline fuel filter on them then running car but nothin comes through im baffled

do you have a manual for this vehicle .. the mondeo was not released in the USA so i don't have any diagrams .. when i said vacuum hoses in meant for the air intake/throttle body etc. this diagram is for a 3.0L escort just as a reference indicator of what i mean ? .. also could you remove and clean the MAF sensor located on the air filter tube ... i have never seen it cause this sympton but i cannot do any harm to clean it !! let me know
